Network discovery

Every device on the network, found and identified

The agent on site listens to the network and sweeps it every few minutes, so new kit turns up in Obsrv on its own, usually within seconds of being plugged in. It asks each device in the protocols it speaks, from ARP, mDNS and SNMP to Crestron, KNX and BACnet, and matches the answers against a growing catalogue of AV, control and network equipment, so you get the manufacturer, model, serial, firmware and the switch port it's on.

Switch ports

Automatic switch port mapping

Obsrv integrates with the network switches on site and maps every device to the port it's plugged into. You can see which device is on which switch port, and an overall map of the network.

PDUs

PDU monitoring and control

See what's plugged into each outlet on a PDU and how much power it's drawing, and switch or reboot outlets remotely. Depending on the manufacturer, you can also see blown fuses and when the PDU has changed over to its backup supply, and Obsrv lets you know when either happens.

Documentation

No more network spreadsheets

Obsrv documents every site for you: every IP device, with its MAC address, IP address, firmware and the switch port it's plugged into. It's all in a printable report that keeps itself up to date as kit is added or replaced.

Config backups

Automatic config backups

Obsrv automatically backs up device configuration files and alerts you if a device has unsaved changes. Where it's available, it keeps a version history, so you can see exactly what's changed.

Password vault

Every client's passwords, stored properly

No more working out where to keep hundreds of client passwords, or sending them by text. Each site has its own vault, encrypted on your device before it's stored, so not even Obsrv can read it. When someone needs a password, send them a secure one-time link that stops working once it's been opened.

Secure remote access

One click to any device on site

Open a device's own web page or a terminal straight from Obsrv with the Obsrv Remote app for Mac and iPhone, and saved logins fill themselves in. The agent on site connects out, so nothing on site is opened to the internet and there's no VPN for the client to look after. Engineers sign in with a passkey, you decide who reaches which sites and from which devices, and removing someone ends their access straight away.

Included with Obsrv Monitoring, with nothing else to buy or set up.

Dynamic DNS

Your own DDNS server, built in

Obsrv has its own DDNS server built in, so your clients get branded hostnames like sitename.ddns.yourdomain.com. The agent keeps each one pointed at the site's IP, at no additional cost.

The Obsrv Monitoring app

A dedicated app for your team

Your engineers get their own app, built for being on call. It opens on every site you look after, with the worst at the top, and a new alarm arrives as a notification your team can pick up, silence or resolve from wherever they are.

The Obsrv Monitoring app on an iPhone, open on Mission Control: seven sites, worst first. Coastguard Cottage has been out of contact for 18 minutes, Harbour House and Bramble Farm have open alarms, and the rest are all up.

On-site hardware

Our hardware, on every site, included

Obsrv Monitoring runs on a small Obsrv device on the site's network. It opens its own encrypted connection out, so nothing is opened on the client's firewall, and it talks to everything on site directly. We issue it as part of the plan, with full warranty and hardware replacement for as long as the site is licensed.

Works offline

If the site loses its internet, the agent keeps watching. When it comes back, everything it saw uploads to Obsrv, so nothing is lost.

Easy transfer

If a client asks for another integrator to take over, the site, its history and its vault can be handed over securely.

Obsrv AI

The most efficient engineer on every site

Tell Obsrv AI what's wrong, in plain English. It goes through weeks of history across every device and system on the site in minutes, runs its own tests, and tells you what it found and why. The hours your team would spend digging through logs are already done, and nothing is changed without your approval.

Included, with £25 of Obsrv AI credit every month for each site. See pricing

An Obsrv AI investigation called 'Rear garden camera keeps dropping'. Its summary says the camera is healthy and the drops line up with port 3 on the plant room switch losing link, pointing to the cable run. Below are confirmed, suspected and ruled-out findings, a scheduled overnight check and a timeline of events at the site.

Obsrv Aftercare

Pairs perfectly with Obsrv Aftercare

Monitoring spots the fault. Aftercare is where it gets dealt with: a ticket against the site, a remote session or a visit, and a client app so the people in the building know what's happening. Together they're one platform for everything you look after.
